About Christopher Johnson | Kingston Photographer

Photographer behind PhotosByChrisYGK

I'm Christopher Johnson, the photographer behind PhotosByChrisYGK. Based in Kingston, Ontario, I photograph everything from portraits and couples to athletes, fitness, automotive, graduation, headshots and events.

Photography has been an interest of mine since I was young, starting with film photography before eventually returning to it seriously and building PhotosByChrisYGK. What started as a creative outlet has grown into working with people from across Kingston and the surrounding area on a wide range of shoots.

My approach is relaxed and collaborative. You don't need to know how to pose or be comfortable in front of a camera before you arrive. I'll help with direction when you need it while leaving enough room for the photos to still feel like you.

I enjoy creating images that feel polished without feeling overly staged, whether we're shooting in the studio, downtown Kingston, at a gym, on the field or track, or somewhere completely different.
