Kingston Photography FAQs

Locations & Studio
The answers to your questions
Where are you located, and where do you photograph?
PhotosByChrisYGK is based in Kingston, Ontario. Most sessions take place throughout Kingston and the surrounding area, either on location or in studio.

Travel outside Kingston is also available depending on the session and location. Additional travel fees may apply.
Do you have a photography studio in Kingston?
Yes. I have a private photography studio in Kingston that I use for portraits, headshots, fitness, boudoir and confidence sessions, and other studio-based shoots.

The studio is available by appointment only, and full location details are provided to clients before their session.

Please note that the studio is located downstairs and is accessible by stairs only. Washroom access is not normally available for studio sessions, but can be accommodated when required.
Can I choose the location for my photoshoot?
Absolutely. If you already have a location in mind, we can discuss whether it works well for the type of photos you're looking for.

If you're not sure where to shoot, I can help suggest locations around Kingston based on the style, lighting and overall look you want. Studio sessions are also available for shoots that are better suited to a controlled indoor setting.

Booking & Payments
The answers to your questions
How do I book a photoshoot?
To book a photoshoot, get in touch through the contact form and let me know what type of session you're interested in. We'll go over what you're looking for, availability and any details needed to plan your shoot.

Once the session details are confirmed and the required deposit has been received, your date is officially booked.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment can be made by e-transfer, debit or credit card. Cash may also be accepted for remaining balances, but deposits must be paid electronically.

Payment details are provided when booking your session.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Payment plans are available for many photoshoots, allowing the total cost to be split into smaller payments leading up to your session.

Payment arrangements must be agreed upon in advance, and the full balance is generally required before the photoshoot takes place.

Preparing for Your Photoshoot
The answers to your questions
What should I wear for my photoshoot?
What you wear depends on the type of session and the look you're going for. Once your shoot is booked, we can discuss outfit ideas that fit the location, setting and overall style of your session.

You're welcome to bring multiple outfits when appropriate, and the studio also has a small lending closet with clothing and accessories that may be available to incorporate into your session.
Can I bring someone with me to my photoshoot?
Yes. You're welcome to bring a friend, partner or someone you trust if having them there will help you feel more comfortable during your session.

For studio sessions, space is limited, so please let me know in advance if you plan to bring someone with you.

If you or anyone accompanying you has accessibility needs, please let me know before your session so we can discuss available options.
Is the studio accessible?
The studio is located downstairs and is accessible by stairs only. If you have mobility or accessibility needs, please let me know before booking so we can discuss whether another location would be a better option for your session.

Washroom access is not normally available for studio sessions, but can be accommodated when required.

Photos & Delivery
The answers to your questions
How and when will I receive my photos?
Your finished photos are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download your images.

Turnaround time varies depending on the type and size of the session. An estimated delivery timeframe will be provided when booking, and I'll let you know if anything changes.
How many photos will I receive?
The number of finished photos depends on the session or package you book. Each package includes a specified number of professionally edited images, so you'll know what is included before your session.

Some sessions may also offer the option to purchase additional finished images.
Do you provide unedited photos?
No. Unedited or RAW files are not normally provided. The editing process is an important part of the finished work and ensures the images you receive reflect the quality and style shown throughout my portfolio.

If you have a particular editing preference or would like something adjusted, you're welcome to discuss it with me.

Boudoir & Confidence
The answers to your questions
What happens during a photoshoot?
No. While the private Kingston studio is available for boudoir and confidence sessions, your photoshoot can also take place at another suitable location.

Hotels, rental spaces or other private locations can be considered depending on the look you're going for. Any additional location or rental costs are the client's responsibility and should be discussed before booking.
Are my boudoir photos kept private?
Your privacy is taken seriously. Photos are not automatically shared publicly simply because you've booked a boudoir or confidence session.

How your images may be used or shared will be discussed as part of the booking and release process, and any applicable privacy options can be discussed before your session.
What should I wear for a boudoir or confidence photoshoot?
There isn't one required look. Outfits can range from lingerie and implied looks to bodysuits, underwear, an oversized shirt, jeans or other clothing that fits the style and comfort level you're going for.

The studio also has a small lending closet with select clothing and accessories that may be available for your session, and we can discuss outfit ideas beforehand.

Session Experience / General Questions
The answers to your questions
What happens during a photoshoot?
You don't need to arrive knowing how to pose or what to do in front of the camera. I'll provide direction throughout the session while keeping things relaxed and allowing room for natural moments.

The approach will vary depending on the type of photoshoot, but the goal is always to create images that feel comfortable and authentic to you.
Can I bring props or personal items to my photoshoot?
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring props, clothing, sports equipment, meaningful items or anything else that helps personalize your session.

If you're planning something larger, unusual or that requires special setup, please let me know beforehand so we can make sure it works safely with the location and session.

Certain props or effects, including open flames, smoke or other potentially hazardous items, must be discussed and approved in advance.

If you're unsure, just ask!
What happens if I need to reschedule?
If you need to reschedule, please get in touch as soon as possible. I'll work with you to find another available date based on the rescheduling terms that apply to your booking.
